TJI brings together the combined expertise of international recording artist and saxophonist Brice Winston, conservatory trained bassist Scott Black, and long-time educator and trombonist Doug Tidaback.

The Institute provides unique opportunities to develop as a musician with classes in beginning and advanced improvisation, vocal jazz ensemble, music tech, recording arts, symphonic band as well as small group and big band performance. TJI provides various programs throughout the year catering to middle and high school students as well as aspiring adult musicians just looking to polish their skills.
